On 18 October 2019, the Waste Revolution Conference was held at Societé Budapest, the event was organized by Hybridart. The speakers took part in interesting roundtable discussions and delivered inspiring presentations, among these PechaKucha’s presentation on sustainability and circularity initiatives. Among the diverse array of participants, Doctor Andrea Dúll (environmental psychologist) talked about climate anxiety and human behavior towards the loss of environmental resources. Ms. Lendvai Lilla, who works with recycled material and owner of RUHA, introduced her views on sustainable use of clothes. She emphasized the importance of avoiding fast fashion chains and plastics in clothing. She also addressed the issue of climate anxiety and the pressure put on individual customers who usually cannot afford sustainable alternatives as these have a significantly higher price than regular products. Mr. Gergely Hankó, environmental engineer and waste management expert addressed the issue of educating all generations on waste management and stressed the urgency to shift to a circular economy. Mr. Márk Maczelka, Head of Communication at SPAR Hungary talked about the company’s new circular economy cooperation, producing textile bags in a small local sewing factory in Tiszabura. Additional presentations were focused on the topic of fashion design and sustainable production. Circular Point (CP) was present at this exciting event together with Geonardo Environmental Technologies promoting CP’s activities and services.
